Collection Princess Pilar of Bavaria – Collections
Princess Pilar of Bavaria (1891-1987) has already been know as painter. The fact that she also was a very talented filmmaker turned out just lately. In the 1920s, the great-granddaughter of King Ludwig I of Bavaria filmed with one of the first 35mm film cameras from ARRI. The images show Munich, her place of birth and the Spanish court, the home of her mother and grandmother. The previously unknown material provides an interesting insight into life at the court of King Alfonso XIII., shortly before he went into exile (1931). The nitrate film originals have been scanned and elaborately restored and can now be licensed in 2 K exclusively at Framepool.
