Mario Menezes fired as Brazil manager Mario Menezes has been fired as manager of the Brazilian national team, Brazilian Football Federation head Andres Sanches announced on Friday. Menezes has been in the job since June 2010, replacing Dunga after Brazil's disappointing performance in the 2010 World Cup. His job had been on the line since Brazil were defeated by Mexico in the Olympic football final. His succesor will be named in January, and will be under intense pressure to win the 2014 World Cup.
